How to classify crushers

Crushing is a kind of equipment that applies mechanical force to solid materials, overcomes the cohesive force of materials and breaks them into small pieces of materials. The types used are: jaw crusher, cycle crusher, cone crusher, roller crusher, hammer crusher and impact crusher.

1. Jaw crusher is a kind of crusher that uses the extrusion and bending effect of two jaw plates on materials, and it can crush rough or medium hard materials. The crushing mechanism is composed of fixed jaw plate and movable jaw plate. When the two jaw plates are close to each other, the material will be crushed. When the two jaw plates leave, the material block smaller than the discharge opening will be discharged from the bottom. Its breaking action is intermittent. This crusher is widely used in mineral processing, building materials, silicate and ceramics industries because of its simple structure, reliable operation and the ability to crush hard materials.

2. The working principle of cone crusher is the same as that of cycle crusher, but it is only suitable for medium or fine crushing operation. The uniformity of discharge particle size of medium and fine crushing operations is generally higher than that of coarse crushing operations. Therefore, a section of parallel area must be set at the lower part of the crushing chamber, and at the same time, the rotation speed of the crushing cone must be accelerated so that the materials can be squeezed more than once in the parallel area.

3. The roller crusher is a machine that uses the friction force of the roller surface to bite the material into the crushing area and make it withstand extrusion or splitting. When it is used for coarse crushing or needs to increase the crushing ratio, teeth or grooves are often made on the roller surface to increase the splitting effect. Roller crushers are usually divided into single roll, double roll and multi roll crushers according to the number of rollers, which are suitable for coarse crushing, medium crushing or fine crushing of coal, limestone, cement clinker, feldspar and other materials below medium hard.

4. Hammer crusher is a kind of crusher which uses the high-speed impact of hammer head to carry out medium and fine crushing of materials. The hammer head is hinged on the high-speed rotating rotor, and the lower part of the machine body is provided with a grate bar to control the discharging granularity. The material sent to the crusher is first broken by the impact of the high-speed moving hammer head, and at the same time obtains kinetic energy, which flies to the crushing plate on the inner wall of the shell at high speed and is broken again. The materials smaller than the gap of the grate bar are discharged from the outside of the machine, and the materials larger than the gap of the grate bar are impacted and grinded by the hammer again on the grate bar until the materials smaller than the gap of the grate bar are discharged.

5. The impact crusher is a kind of machinery which uses the high-speed impact of the hammer and the rebound effect of the impact plate to make the material be broken by repeated impact. The plate hammer is fixed on the rotor with high-speed rotation, and several impact plates are arranged along the crushing chamber according to different angles. When the material enters into the action area of the plate hammer, it is first impacted by the plate hammer and broken for the first time. At the same time, it obtains kinetic energy and rushes to the impact plate at high speed. After the material collides with the impact plate and breaks again, it is bounced back to the action area of the plate hammer and is impacted again by the plate hammer. This is repeated until it is crushed to the required particle size and discharged out of the machine.
